Christmas Celebrated on 25th December 2019

The Lord Jehovah loved the world so much and he sent his only son Jesus to the world to save the people from sin. Before Jesus, there was a direct punishment from lord to the sinners, but  Jesus’s birth provided a way for us to spend eternity with Him and repentance for our sins.

Christmas History:

Long ago, about 2000 years, the Lord selected two persons called virgin Mary and Joseph who were the citizens of Nazareth to be Jesus’s parents. One day God’s angel appeared to these persons and said that lord selected you to be the parents for his only son, who will become the savior for us. These two obeyed the God’s word and followed him.

As the days passed on and the delivery time came for Mary, at that time the land where the couple lived were apart from the Roman Empire. The Emperor ordered all should be enrolled(or census) their names to pay tax to the country. So Mary and Joseph traveled almost 70 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem with a donkey to carry their needy things to register their names in the census. When they reached the place no one gave them shelter that night because every room and house was occupied by the guests.

Joseph and Mary traveled very slowly because the due time was a[[roaching for Mary and they found a place where animals could live. So in the place where animals could sleep, Mary gave birth to Jesus, son of Lord Jehovah. The newborn baby was wrapped tightly with a long cloth called “swaddling Cloth” also, the bed of Jesus was a director that the creatures ate their roughage from. Then many more angels appeared, lightening the sky, praising the God and singing “Glory to God in highest, and peace to everyone on earth”. The shepherds in the fields saw the angels singing and said to one another ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem to see what happened. So the shepherds went to Bethlehem and discovered Mary and Joseph. The baby Jesus was wrapped and lying on a manager. When they saw him in a manager they praised him and gave some of their sheep as a gift to Baby Jesus.

When Jesus was born,  a new bright star appeared in the sky. Some wise men (Gasper, Balthasar, and Melchior) in faraway countries saw the bright star and guessed what it meant. They were very clever men and had read it in very old writings that a new star would appear when a great king was born. They set out to find him and bring him gifts. At last, they found the newborn baby and gave gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Importance of Santa Claus,Christmas Tree and a Star:

1. The Story Behind the Santa Claus:

Santa is a person who gives gifts in the Christmas Eve and fills joy in every home. Santa Claus is a person with long white whiskers, wearing a red suit, with a long and thick beard.

Where Santa Claus was originated?

St. Nicolas was a bishop who belonged to the 4th century in a place called Myra (now called as Turkey). He lost his parents at his early age and was a very rich man. He was also a kind-hearted man and had a reputation for helping the poor and giving secret gifts to people who are in need.

The famous story of St. Nicholas tells that how he had become the Santa Claus is as follows: Once there was a poor man who had three daughters. The poor man was not in a condition to marry his daughters off. By knowing his poor condition, one night St. Nicholas secretly dropped a bag of gold down the chimney in the poor man’s house. The sack fell into a stocking that had been hung by the fire to dry! This was repeated later with the second and third daughters. Finally, the man determined to discover the person who had given him the money, St. Nicholas begged the man not to tell to everyone. But soon the news got out and when anyone received a secret gift, it was thought that maybe it was from St. Nicholas.
