A promise is a declaration or assurance given to someone that we will definitely do something. So to give a commitment to stay together with your partner through thick and thin, a day is dedicated in valentine's week. This day is called Promise day.
It is celebrated on 11th February every year. Promise day is the fifth day of Valentine's week.
You might have started Valentine's week, celebrating the first four days by giving a rose on Rose day, proposing on Propose day, giving Chocolates on Chocolate day, gifting teddy's on Teddy day. But all these go waste if you don't promise your lover to stay together with them forever.
Promise day is an important day for lovers. It signifies the love and care of your partner towards you in your relationships. When a person is in love, promises made by his/her partner means a lot to them. These promises show how much they are loved and cared for by their partner. So, on Promise day couples make unbreakable promises to each other. They show their love and commitment towards each other in their relationship through these promises.
During the marriage, people take vows to stay together through sickness and in health and fulfill each other's wishes. In the same way, on promise day lovers promise each other to be loyal, to love and care for each other and stick to these promises.
Promise day not only meant for young lovers, but also it can be celebrated by the married couple. For promising our partner to stay together at all the situations, we don't need a particular day. But after enjoying our love life, we get married, we get busy with our daily life and hardly get some time to communicate with our partner. So in those situations, celebrating days like Promise day makes our partner feel special and strengthens our relationship.
Also, some people don't believe in the concept of Valentine's week but it is always a good idea to remind your partner what you feel about him/her and how much you love them. If you can't express your feelings directly, write a personalized message and list of promises to your partner. Tell them how much they have changed you and make them feel that you are the best partner for them. Promise your partner that you will make them feel secure and always protect them. Seeing this, they feel so special and valued. This may look like a small thing in life, but it adds meaning to your life.
